
Format of 2025 IPsyO
The 2025 IPsyO consists of the Global Grand Test and the International Final round. The Global Grand Test also acts as the qualification round for the International Final.
In the Global Grand Test, students will participate individually. Top performers from each country or region will advance to the Final Round and form national/regional teams to compete. Below are the competitive formats of the 2 rounds.
PLEASE NOTE: All the modules are conducted ONLINE.
The test is a virtual test and the presentation is submitted online in video format.
Global Grand Test
(Individual Competition)
Also act as the qualification round for the International Final.
The Global Grand Test focuses on fundamental psychology knowledge.
- Number of Questions: 300
- Test Duration: 150 minutes
Final Round
(Team Competition)
The final round consists of 2 modules, a Material-based Objective Exam and a Research Proposal Presentation, focused on comprehensive thinking and application.
Material-based Objective Exam: 5 reading materials, 20 objective questions for each, with 120 minutes to complete the exam.
Research Proposal Presentation: Prepare a research proposal based on the provided topic. 7 days for preparation, 7 minutes for presentation.
Advancement Rules of 2025 IPsyO
In the Global Grand Test as the qualification event, the top-performing students from each country or region will form teams for advancement. The team slots are one for regions with 50 or fewer participants and two for those with over 50. Each team is composed of 1 to 3 members; with the top three scorers as the first team and the next three as the second if two teams advance.
To qualify for advancement, students must achieve Distinction or higher in the Grand Test.
Team Slots by Region
Number of advancement slots is based on the number of participants in a region.
- For regions ≤ 50 participants: One Team
- For regions > 50 participants: Two Teams
Team Composition
Each team is automatically formed based on national/regional ranking (not school-based).
- Team One: 1st to 3rd place scorer.
- Team Two: 4th to 6th place scorer.
*No substitute or waiting list will be allowed in the international final. Each team is composed of 1 to 3 members, depending on individual opt-outs.

Grade
In the Global Grand Test, IPsyO establishes four tiers based on the performance distribution of all participants and confers Grade Certificates upon those who surpass the qualifying scores.
